Now on Hulu, This Stephen King Chiller is Still “One of the best mini-series”

The weather outside is frightful, and this Stephen King chiller is delightful. January is the perfect time to remind you that Storm of the Century is streaming on Hulu. It is a must-watch winter terror, and I encourage you to turn it on immediately. Watch the trailer and read the synopsis below to remind yourself why this is one of the best examples of King’s work on screen.

In the film,

“Mike Anderson, the constable of the isolated Maine island hamlet Little Tall Island, is facing the toughest challenge of his career. Not only is a devastating winter storm bearing down on his community, but it also brings with it one Andre Linoge, a sinister stranger. Linoge, who may just be the devil incarnate, has an uncanny knowledge of all of the town’s dark secrets, and he uses that knowledge to drive some of the locals to murder and suicide. With each horrific event, Linoge repeats his demand: “Give me what I want and I’ll go away.” What he wants, however, is more horrifying still.”

Storm Of The Century was directed by Craig R. Baxley. It was written by Stephen King. The miniseries stars Tim Daly, Colm Feore, Debrah Farentino, Casey Siemaszko, and Jeffrey DeMunn.

Many people are almost as obsessed with this frosty Stephen King title as I am. Some are even seeing the influence it had on the work of King fan and frequent collaborator Mike Flanagan’s Midnight Mass.

After years of only being able to watch Storm of the Century on YouTube, unless you are a nerd who owns it on DVD like me, it is amazing to see it streaming on Hulu. Not only does it allow fans to revisit it, but it also allows a newer audience to finally check it out too.

Is Storm of the Century one of your favorite winter horror watches? Do you also own a copy of the published screenplay written by Stephen King and have the miniseries on DVD? If so, we are the same kind of constant reader and should chat at  @misssharai.

Then we chat about The Brave Little Toaster and how it destroyed all four of our childhoods. Anthropomorphic appliances, self-cannibalism, religion...this movie has it all and we laugh our way through describing just how messed up it actually is.
