It’s Rose Red, baby. Stephen King’s underrated haunted house shocker (underrated unless you’re a King made-for-television millennial like I am) continues to endure a healthy shelf life on Hulu. The epic miniseries stars Melanie Lynskey, Nancy Travis, Matt Keesar, and Kimberly J. Brown, among a stacked cast of familiar faces.

While it premiered on the streamer back in October, there’s never a bad time to stay the night at Rose Red, especially since copies of the miniseries on DVD can be difficult to come by. Check out a trailer and synopsis below:

Per Hulu: A college professor and a team of psychics investigate an old abandoned house at the request of the man who has inherited it. Hoping to explain some of the mysterious deaths and disappearances on the property, the psychics stay in the mansion, but unleash a terrifying force that threatens to destroy them all.

We are living in the age of Stephen King. While Rose Red might be familiar to bonafide genre fans, I’m still willing to bet there are swaths of younger audiences especially who never got to check it out when it premiered in 2002. Some of them—and this is hard for me to think about—might not have even been born yet. Yes, adults who can legally drink this year weren’t alive when Rose Red was released on ABC. I’m sorry to admit this.

Rose Red exists nicely alongside the likes of Skinamarink, The Boogeyman (another Stephen King property). Cobweb, and Haunting of the Queen Mary as a standout haunter available on Hulu. Audiences seem to agree. Check out what they’re saying about Rose Red below:

What do you think? Do you plan to check out Rose Red on Hulu? If you have, are you going to watch it again? I will. Either way, let me know over on Twitter @Chadiscollins!
