Recently, LAPD officers responded to a call from an unidentified South Los Angeles woman who had the misfortune to happen upon a corpse wrapped in plastic in her son’s bedroom. The unidentified caller told officers she entered her son’s room after noticing a gas smell emanating from that part of the dwelling.

Very few details about the case are available at this juncture. But the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as 30-year-old Mississippi native, Hannah Rachel Collins.

LA County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has confirmed to The New York Post that an autopsy has been conducted on Collins but the findings have yet to be made public.

Reporters at The Post were able to reach a friend of Collins for comment who, under the condition of anonymity, said Rachel was “fun, kind and loved music and dancing but, ultimately, drugs took a hold of her.”

The friend continued by saying, “I don’t like to hang out with people who do drugs or are intoxicated while they’re driving or stealing things, and that’s when we grew apart”.

According to a different friend of the deceased, Collins had moved to LA shortly before her death and was in the process of looking for a job at the time of her passing.

At this point, we have very few details to report regarding the identity of the homeowner’s son. The only information that has been released to the public as of this posting is that he is a 26-year-old Hispanic male.
