‘Stopmotion’ Gets A Release Date And A Creepy New Trailer

Stopmotion

A new, disturbingly gorgeous trailer has entered the chat this week. If you have been waiting for a chance to see Stopmotion, then your wait is almost over. The festival favorite is heading to a theater near most of you on February 23. If you are unfamiliar with the title, allow me to introduce you below and check out the sick new trailer.

In the film,

“Ella Blake is a stop-motion animator who is struggling to control her demons after the loss of her overbearing mother. Suddenly alone in the world, she embarks upon the creation of a macabre new puppet film, which soon becomes the battleground for her sanity. As Ella’s mind starts to fracture, the characters in her animated film take on a terrifying life of their own, and the unleashed power of her imagination threatens to destroy her.”

Stopmotion was directed by Robert Morgan. The script was penned by Robert Morgan and Robin King. The film stars Aisling Franciosi, Stella Gonet, and Tom York.

Due to Stopmotion‘s appearances in so many festivals last year, it has already picked up quite the fanbase. Dread Central’s Editor-in-Chief, Mary Beth McAndrews, wrote in her review,

“Stopmotion isn’t a movie meant to be fully understood. Rather, it is a film to be experienced and left to fester. This film is a splinter burrowing into the soft pink flesh of your brain. Between delightfully repulsive puppets, a stellar central performance, and impeccable sound design, Morgan creates a deeply upsetting and utterly enthralling cinematic experience that taps into the insecurities that haunt us all. Call it festival madness, but this may just be one of the best films of the year.”

Stopmotion will crawl into theaters on February 23 before heading to Shudder on May 31.
