DEATH STRANDING Coming To PC In 2020!
Bit news today for PC gamers. In a recent tweet from Kojima Productions, Death Stranding was confirmed for a 2020 PC release. Slated for “Summer” of 2020, no official date has been announced. As with all things gaming, exact timeframes are subject to change. Also, no word on if this will be the base edition or some kind of collectors edition with DLC. Or even if Death Stranding will have DLC… Okay, just read the tweet:
If you’re not a PC gamer, you might not realize just how big of news this is. For a long time now, PC gamers have wished that the best Playstation exclusives would be ported over. Unfortunately, Playstation exclusives have been unwaveringly steadfast in their single-platform representation. This is largely a remnant of the console wars, which seems to be waning in the present age. Desire has only grown for cross-platform play, with games like Fortnite and the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare allowing people to play with their friends across systems. Microsoft has also sought to cater to the PC crowd by making their library available on both the Xbox and PC. Still, titles like God of War, The Last of Us, and Uncharted are a distant dream for PC players. With Death Stranding coming to the PC, we are seeing the first signs that Sony might finally be acknowledging all us poor PC gamers with $2,000+ rigs.
Of course, there is always the chance that this is simply an anomaly. Kojima is famous, and can make any number of demands that a normal developer wouldn’t get away with. So is this just a one-off fluke due to the explicit demands of an auteur drunk with power? Who knows. Either way, I’m stoked to be able to play Death Stranding from the comfort of my $300 gaming chair. How about you folks? What games would you like to see come to the PC? Let me know below!
