Spooky House Game Infliction: Extended Cut Coming To Consoles February 25th 2020
With about seven spooky house games releasing every day, it’s worth remembering the ones that do it right. Originally released back in 2018, Infliction is one you might have missed. Which is a shame, because it really nailed the whole “horror lurking just beneath the surface” thing. I could have done without the spooky ghost chases, as I prefer to let my psychological horrors be psychological. But in any case, it had a great descent into madness that really drew you into the story. Paired with excellent sound design, the game rises well past its admittedly limited visuals.
Infliction: Extended Cut was originally going to come out for consoles this year. Unfortunately, developer Caustic Reality has pushed that date back to February 25th, 2020. It’s a shame, but I’d rather wait for polished new content than get a sub-par console port. New to the Extended Cut is a New Game Plus mode that essentially acts as a remix. New scares, new puzzle solutions, harder ghosts, etc. The game will also feature a new ending, which hopefully is where you find out the whole thing was the work of an evil Shiba Inu.
Infliction: Extended Cut will be available on Xbox One, PS4, and Switch on February 25th for $19.99. If you want to check out the game now, you can head on over to the Steam store page and pick it up!
