[TGA 2019] Weird West Is An Even Deadlier Wild West
Remember when those people that made Prey and Dishonored went off to form their own studio? There was a lot of speculation as to why, mostly surrounding a certain publisher that might be named after a town in Maryland. There was a lot of mystery surrounding what the new studio, named WolfEye, might be up to. Well, we finally have an answer. Unveiled at tonight’s The Game Awards 2019, Weird West is a western that looks… weird.
Which makes sense, since WolfEye is partnering with Devolver Digital on this one. Since Devolver is basically known for making violent and stylistic indie games, it’s a good fit. Not much is known about Weird West at the moment, other than that it seems to feature all sorts of ghoulies. The game also features a top-down view, so I’d be willing to bet it’s something tactical. Here’s more info from the Official Press Release:
Discover a dark fantasy reimagining of the Wild West where lawmen and gunslingers share the frontier with fantastical creatures. Journey through the origin stories of a group of atypical heroes, written into legend by the decisions you make in an unforgiving land. Each journey is unique and tailored to the actions taken – a series of high stakes stories where everything counts and the world reacts to the choices you make. Form a posse or venture forth alone into an otherworldly confines of the Weird West and make each legend your own.
For the latest on Weird West, set up camp at WolfEye Studios’ Twitter (https://twitter.com/wolfeyestudios), Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/wolfeyegames), and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/wolfeyestudios/) accounts.
No word yet on when Weird West will be releasing, or on what platforms. You can already add the game to your Steam wishlist, so head on over to the store page and add it there.
