The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters Launches Out Of Early Access Today

Good lord have I been hearing a lot about The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters. It seems like every week the developer has a new update on the progress of their game. Which is a good thing. In an era where Early Access games languish for years before releasing as a pitiful fart incapable of meeting fan expectations, seeing a game come out in a timely manner is refreshing.

In case you missed all the hype, here’s the scoop. The Coma 2: Viscious Sisters is a new indie horror game from developer Devespresso Games. It came out in Early Access in November, and is probably the only time that Early Access has actually been used to deliver a proper Beta. Just three months later, the game is now in full release. Here’s a description of The Coma 2 from the Offical Press Release:

The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters continues the dark and sinister adventure from The Coma: Recut with players journeying beyond the deserted Sehwa High School and into the surrounding district. Featuring vibrant, hand-illustrated visuals by Minho Kim combined with a nightmare-fuelled story of a relentless slasher by T. L. Riven, The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters precariously balances the urgency of exploration with the need for survival. Set in a distinctly Korean environment, The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters explores universal themes of friendship, bullying and the pressure to achieve academically.

Haven’t played The Coma: Recut? Worry not, as the game features an entirely new story and main character. Players of the original will be treated to cameo appearances and a larger understanding of the world, but it’s not crucial information. Still, I’d recommend picking it up anyways. It’s only $15.

For players continuing on from the Early Access, you’ll unfortunately have to start a new save file. It’s cool though, there’s lots of new stuff to experience. There’s a new ending, dialogue, voice acting, kill screens, and secret rooms to uncover.

It’s a great value for just $15, and can be picked up now on Steam. No word yet on a console release, but given the popularity, I wouldn’t be surprised. Check back soon for our full review!
