Song Of Horror Releases Update With Extra Extra Hard Mode And (Almost) New Character

Following the release of their final chapter, Song of Horror has an upcoming update for the players who want something more. In case a horror game with an eldritch entity that can’t be killed and perma-death for the limited characters is not hard enough for you, a new, even harder hardest difficulty is going to be added into the game.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Song of Horror is a five-part analogy about well, a horror song. This mysterious tune drives those who hear it mad, driving a number of different people to work together and find out what is going on. Along the way, they find out that the source of the Song is a monstrous evil known as the Presence.

This new “H.P. Lovecraft” setting, inspired by the famously feeble and scared-of-everything author, offers a significantly harder challenge. Paranormal events in Song of Horror are more frequent and more difficult. According to Carlos Grupeli, Protocol Games’ co-founder:

We want to make sure players who have already completed the whole game can delve back into Song of Horror and take on The Presence once more, but this time with even more mal-intent. We think fans will really enjoy us upping the ante even further with the H.P. Lovecraft difficulty setting.”

One more addition to the Song of Horror is a (partially) new playable character. Erica Färber, previously only appearing in episodes 2 and 4, will now be available to play as in the finale. Not exactly a new character, but hey. It’s a free update. Beggars can’t be choosers.

Song of Horror is available elusively on PC. You can buy the game from Steam by clicking here. And for more information, you can visit their website by clicking here.
