The Moon Continues to Be Terrifying in The Last Cosmonaut

It doesn’t matter what year it is, landing on the moon is always a bad idea. Have you ever seen a story about landing on the moon where things have gone right? The answer is no, you haven’t. Even if it takes place in an alternate 1989, it doesn’t change the fact that The Last Cosmonaut is the latest horror game to make the moon terrifying.

Taking place in an alternate timeline, The Last Cosmonaut sees you playing as a Russian cosmonaut that wakes up from deep sleep on a moon base. You see, the Russians got cosmonauts to the moon after the Americans landed a man on the moon on “July 74th.” Shortly after, NASA and the Soviet Space Force teamed up to build a moon base, which they use to house people on the moon and also fight traitors. Of course, things go horribly wrong, since you’re on the moon, and you promptly make a terrifying discovery that wants to murder you.
