Ubisoft Reveals New Far Cry 6 Trailer

Perhaps the most exciting news from the Ubisoft Forward digital conference today was Far Cry 6. The reveal came in the form of a cinematic trailer staring Giancarlo Esposito, who played Gus Fring in Breaking Bad. In it he plays as the el presidente of Cuba, instructing his son on how to be a Far Cry villain.

Far Cry 6 has you playing as Dani Rojas, a young man or woman from Yara, Cuba. With the country in turmoil on the brink of revolution, you will face riot police and military in an attempt to overthrow President Gus.

This is a bit of a narrative change from previous Far Cry games. In general, they follow an American who winds up in these kinds of circumstances. It will be interesting to see it from the perspective of a native to the country in question. Though I have no doubt the open-world action in Far Cry 6 will be just as fun as the other games.

Far Cry 6 is schedule for release on February 18th, 2021. For more information, you can check out the Ubisoft announcement page here.
