The Raid is a Cyberpunk Multiplayer FPS Trip Into the World of Observer
If you’ve ever played a narrative adventure game and gone “Gee, I wish I could shoot my way through this,” then The Raid may be the game you’ve been waiting for.
Set in the same world as Observer, you’ll be diving into a VR tournament to shoot other people and hopefully win some money in the process. Players will team up to run dungeons, known as raids, shooting monsters and hacking things along the way. The goal is to get to the end of the level where you’ll have to fight a boss. The game will also offer competitive multiplayer, in case you want to shoot your friends as well.
If all of this sounds familiar, that’s because The Raid is based on 2084, an Early Access single-player FPS also set in the world of Observer, and made in three days for an internal game jam. Ultimately the concept was so successful that Feardemic, the publishing arm of Bloober Team, decided to make an in-house development studio, named 84RAID Corporation, to work on a full release.
While there’s nowhere to currently add The Raid to your wishlist, you can pick up 2084 on Steam and get an idea of what it will play like.
