Graven Gets Limited-Time Game Awards Demo
Its time to put on your robe and grab your wizard staff. Graven, the upcoming spiritual successor to FPS classic Hexen, is getting a second limited-time demo from today until December 13th.
The demo is in celebration of the Game Awards, which is a thing that happens tomorrow and will surely have a lot of games get awards. However, you don’t need to wait until tomorrow as the demo is available right now. The demo features some new elements not seen in the first demo, including new quests, a pair of new enemies, a blacksmith, and new weapons. In the latter case that includes a flail, which seems like the kind of weapon that more games should really look into having.
If you haven’t heard of it before, Graven is a first-person shooter that takes elements from all sorts of genres. While it may be inspired by Hexen, you can see many of the tropes present in immersive sims like the Dishonored series. You’ll play as a priest exiled from his home after committing a crime, and trying to start a new life in a new city. Thankfully you have a staff, a book, and the ability to throw lightning bolts at people. You’ll use all your skills to stop horrifying monsters from destroying reality.
Graven is set to be released some time in 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. You can add the game to your wishlist here.
