The Medium Coming to PlayStation 5 Later This Year
Today Bloober Team has announced that The Medium, which launched on Xbox Series X|S and PC earlier this year, will be making its way to PlayStation 5.
Originally launching on January 28th, today Bloober Team said The Medium will hit PlayStation 5 on September 3rd. While the PlayStation 5 version will just be the same game, developer Bloober Team did note that they were going to be taking advantage of the DualSense controller and PlayStation 5’s SSD for faster load times. In addition to this, when it launched The Medium was a digital only title. Bloober Team will be creating physical versions of the game for PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PC on September 3rd, in case you wanted to get your hands on a physical copy.
If you haven’t played the game yet, The Medium follows a medium named Marianne, as she investigates the Niwa’s Worker Resort in 1999 Poland. Marianne has one very useful and specific power: she can exist in both the real world and the spirit world at the same time. To show this, at all times you get to play in two worlds, with the game in split screen showing what’s happening in both the real world and spirit world at the same time. It also has a soundtrack composed by Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, which means you should get some delightful tunes to accompany your horror journey.
If you want to grab The Medium you can do so on PC or Xbox Series X|S right now. If you’re waiting for the PlayStation 5 version, or wanted to grab one of the physical editions of the other versions of the game, they have a release date of September 3rd, 2021.
