Thunderful World Teases Myriad Titles

Thunderful World is a new digital showcase from Thunderful Games, which debuted yesterday, November 10. Announced by Mark Hamill himself, it showed off sixteen titles, with a few of them veering into the sci-fi/fantasy horror wheelhouse.

The Gunk, an Xbox and Windows Store exclusive, will release on December 16. If you happen to have Game Pass, it will be available the same day. Find it on Xbox One consoles, with a version optimized for Xbox Series X|S consoles as well. The third-person sci-fi adventure stars a pair of space haulers named Rani and Becks. The two stumble upon a planet full of natural resources, a lucky break for the two of them. They realize, however, that the gunk scattered throughout the planet is harming it. Check out the trailer and peep the visuals and gameplay.

White Shadows will come to PCs, PlayStation 5s, and Xbox Series X|S devices on December 7. The cinematic 2.5D platformer uses a variety of puzzles in a black-and-white art style. The debut from Monokel will tell the story of Ravengirl as she attempts to escape The White City, a dystopian metropolis formed out of gigantic spires. White Shadows combines an industrial, steampunk setting with sci-fi elements to create a unique atmosphere. Check out the gorgeous aesthetics in its trailer. You can also Wishlist it on Steam ahead of its release. Our vibe was “Battle With Cosmic Evil Space Goop” which you can read about here.

Lastly, Cursed to Golf is just that. Chuhai Labs announced the Golf Champion trapped in Golf Purgatory may finally escape in 2022. Find it on consoles and PCs. To escape Golf Purgatory, the Champion will have to play through 18 dungeon-like holes. There are four different biomes, and a variety of Ace Cards to help get you the edge on the competition. Don’t forget the trailer and the Steam Store page. We also have an impression if you wanted to read that, too.

Ep. 347 Smile 2: “The Tale of Schmorgashbords, Part 1”
Ket tells Kim about the highly requested and truly terrifying Smile 2. This left Ketryn truly shooketh and gave The Substance a run for its money in grotesque-ness. It was simply a smorgasbord of gore and the first time in podcast history that Ket is the one who can’t quite say a word. Stay tuned for part 2 to find out what type of pants Kim needs for this one.Writer/Dir. Episode 268: Mind Body Spirit Filmmkers Alex Henes and Matt Merenda and The Brave Little Toaster (1987)
This week we're joined by Alex Henes and Matt Merenda, the filmmakers behind the yoga-horror found footage film Mind Body Spirit, which is available on demand and streaming on Shudder and AMC+. We chat about Sarah J. Bartholomew's fantastic performance, the script and more before diving into their childhoods and their very different reactions to horror as a kid. Then we chat about The Brave Little Toaster and how it destroyed all four of our childhoods. Anthropomorphic appliances, self-cannibalism, religion...this movie has it all and we laugh our way through describing just how messed up it actually is.
