The Fabulous Fear Machine Drops New Video, Demo
The Fabulous Fear Machine will allow you to rule the world from behind the scenes. It happened to drop new behind-the-scenes footage earlier this week as part of the London Games Festival. And, if that weren’t enough, there’s a new demo on Steam as well. Expect it to launch this summer on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG.com.
It’s simple, really. All you need to do as the new Master of the Machine is generate and spread fear across the globe. Cultivate myths and Legends to frighten and cow the masses. The single-player real-time strategy game features a chic and stylish retro horror comic art style. New mechanics appear in the demo as well as a tutorial and preview of the first arc of the story. It will teach the Master how Legends work and how to evolve them to grow their power from the shadows. There’s also a “Rival,” an NPC in opposition to the player who can also affect the narrative.
The Fabulous Fear Machine is the third title from AMC Games, which is currently partnering with AMC Networks’ Shudder streaming service. Early development support came from Red.es and FEDER (the European Regional Development Fund).
Based in Madrid, indie studio Fictiorama Studios began with three brothers (Mario, Alberto, and Luis Oliván). They produced Do Not Feed the Monkeys in 2018, which won several awards for innovation and narrative excellence including a triple nomination at the Independent Game Festival. Two of the brothers also form part of alternative rock band Kovalski and performed Dead Synchronicity’s soundtrack.
AMC Networks has a vast portfolio including AMC, BBC America (with BBC Studios), IFC, SundanceTV, and many others. Their in-house studio, production, and distribution operation has created various award-winning media such as The Walking Dead.
Shudder is the premium streaming service provided by AMC Networks. It offers horror, thrillers, and supernatural entertainment for the discerning consumer. It’s available on most major streaming services in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand.
