Evil Dead: The Game Gains Army of Darkness Update

Evil Dead: The Game just got eviler and deader. The Army of Darkness update for the PvP and PvE multiplayer game includes a new map, weapons, and plenty of other content. The free update is available now for players on the Playstation 4 and 5, the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Epic Games Store). Of course there’s a trailer, too.

First is the new map, which is the castle from Army of Darkness. The Keep, Fort Gort, the Arthurian Outpost, and even the Windmill appear, faithfully recreated from the film. The Keep held the Necronomicon during the siege from the army of darkness, and it will play a similarly important role in the game’s update.

As for other interesting things in the update, you can now make use of two new weapons. First is the Mace, a slow, powerful melee weapon. Second is the Explosive Crossbow, a similarly slow weapon with a powerful explosion behind it, are new tools in humanity’s arsenal against the Deadites. There’s also a new single-player Exploration mode, which allows players to explore maps entirely alone. Get the lay of the land and warm up by taking out roving bands of the army of darkness.

Lastly, there are some new cosmetics available for purchase. First are the S-Mart Employee and Gallant Knight Outfits for Ash Williams. You can also snag the Medieval Bundle, with new outfits for Lord Arthur, Henry the Red, and Evil Ash and his troop. The former two outfits are $2.99 each, and the latter is $7.99 (and included in Season Pass 1). After generating buzz late 2020, Evil Dead: The Game released earlier this year. Teams for four survivors work together to banish the evil Deadites and their leader, the Kandarian Demon, off the mortal plane. Or, if you prefer, take control of the Demon and conquer humanity for yourself!
