Recent Horror Classic Resurfaces On Netflix Charts: “I had a VERY good time watching this”
Your favorite A24 movies aren’t just finding new homes now that the Showtime Anytime app has shuttered its doors. They are also finding new fans as they spread out among the more popular streamers. This is possibly why X is now killing it on the Netflix Charts. If you’ve forgotten the movie that kicked off an ongoing trilogy for A24, then allow me to refresh your memory.
In the film,
“In 1979, a group of young filmmakers set out to make an adult film in rural Texas, but when their reclusive, elderly hosts catch them in the act, the cast find themselves fighting for their lives.”

X was written and directed by Ti West. The movie stars Mia Goth, Jenna Ortega, Martin Henderson, Brittany Snow, Owen Campbell, Stephen Ure, and Scott Mescudi (a.k.a Kid Cudi).
While the movie that kicked off Ti West’s trilogy is wildly popular among horror fans, most people seem to be here for the cast. It’s one of the movies where even the supporting actors get recognition from Twitter.

While X is the first movie in the series, it was followed by a prequel film, Pearl. The franchise is set to end this year with the release of MaXXXine. It will serve as a direct sequel to X and follows Maxine as she continues chasing her dreams of becoming an actress. Mia Goth will be joined by Michelle Monaghan, Giancarlo Esposito, Moses Sumney, and Kevin Bacon for this final installment. The movie is set in 1980s Los Angeles. Watch the teaser trailer below.
