From the Press Release
Anchor BayCanada is thrilled to announce the acquisition of three new exciting genre films from Foresight Features penned by Tony Burgess for distribution in the Canadian home entertainment market.
Rob Herholz, General Manager of Anchor Bay Entertainment Canada signed the films and notes, “We have been big supporters of the Foresight team since their first film, Scarce, in 2008, and it was great to see Monster Brawl and Exit Humanity establish them as filmmakers to be reckoned with. With horror scribe Tony Burgess collaborating on Ejecta, Septic Man, and Hellmouth, we expect things to go to a new level altogether.”
“Anchor Bay Entertainment is one of the greatest film distributors and supporters of all time. Working closely with their incredible Canadian team over the past three years, and now across six films, has been an exciting and rewarding relationship for everyone involved,” says Matt Wiele, Executive Producer and General Manager, Foresight Features.
In Septic Man, an erstwhile plumber undergoes a hideous transformation when trapped inside a septic tank and tormented by the bizarre residents of his town’s sewage treatment plant. The film was an official selection at the 2013 Fantastic Fest, where it celebrated its World Premiere and picked up the Horror Feature Best Actor award for Jason David Brown. Septic Man is slated for a Canadian Premiere at the 2013 Toronto After Dark Film Festival on Sunday, October 20, at 7:00PM. The film boasts Canadian cast and crew, featuring Julian Richings (Cube, The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh), Stephen McHattie (Pontypool, The Watchmen), Jason David Brown (Exit Humanity, Monster Brawl), Molly Dunsworth (Hobo with a Shotgun), Robert Maillet (Pacific Rim, Monster Brawl), and Tim Burd (Saw II, III, & V, Repo The Genetic Opera), and is directed by Jesse Thomas Cook (Monster Brawl).
Ejecta is a sci-fi thriller starring Julian Richings, Lisa Houle (Pontypool), and Adam Seybold (Exit Humanity) with a small cameo by Dee Wallace (E.T.). The film tells the terrifying story of two men whose lives cross paths on a fateful night during a once in a lifetime solar storm. An unknown presence besieges the men on a remote farm, triggering an intense struggle to survive not only the night, but also the horrific interrogations and tortures of an anonymous organization who will stop at nothing to learn the truth about what the two men witnessed. The film is co-directed by Chad Archibald (NeverLost) and Foresight producer Matt Wiele.
Hellmouth is an ode to classic horror and fantasy and stars Stephen McHattie as Charlie Baker, a dying gravekeeper who’s forced to take one final job. This VFX spectacle chronicles Charlie Baker’s dark descent through Gothic landscapes, demonic worlds, and medieval realms as he journeys to discover the secret behind a mysterious cemetery. The film also features an eclectic cast including female lead Siobhan Murphy, Julian Richings, Boyd Banks (Pontypool, Devil’s Night), Mark Gibson (Exit Humanity), and a great cameo by Bruce McDonald (Highway 61, Hardcore Logo). The film was directed by John Geddes (Exit Humanity).
