If you’re a horror fan anywhere near Worcester, MA, don’t walk, RUN to one of the most beloved horror conventions on the East Coast. Of course we’re talking about Rock and Shock!
You want celebrity guests? Rock and Shock’s got ’em in spades. And some really unique convention celeb guests at that. Like Scott Wilson (“The Walking Dead”), Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day, “The X-Files”), Sharknado director Anthony C. Ferrante and Jason Simmons (“Charmed”) making their first ever convention appearances. How about horror icons Robert Englund, Michael Rooker, Gunnar Hansen, Kane Hodder, and Sid Haig; famous horror author Joe Knetter; and Twisted Sister frontman and all-around horror dude Dee Snider? They’ll all be there carousing with the fans. One thing many Rock and Shock veterans always comment on is the laid back atmosphere of the festival and how the celebs feel comfortable just milling around with the fans.
Want more, you say? Woodhaven Productions will be premiering their newest film, Army of the Damned, on Saturday night and bringing their films’ alums along. Just at the Woodhaven table alone you’ll see Godsmack frontman Sully Erna, horror legend Tony Todd, Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts, Nick Principe, Joey Fatone, David Chokachi (“Baywatch”), adult film star Jasmine St. Claire, writer/director Tom DeNucci, and red-hot starlet Jackie Moore.
Any “Holliston” fans out there? Adam Green, Corri English, and Laura Ortiz from the amazing FEARnet show will be at the convention. Last year the “Holliston” panel blew the crowd away, and they’re back with another unique presentation filled with audience participation.
But wait… there’s more! You’re a wrestling fan, you say? Rock and Shock is bringing in the Hardcore Legend Tommy Dreamer, the Vampire Warrior Gangrel, the insanely hot Maria Kanellis, and upcoming star Thea Trinidad.
As for the “rock” in Rock and Shock, this year’s headline act is the legendary band Danzig, featuring former Misfits guitarist Doyle. Also, Otep, Butcher Babies, Texas Hippie Coalition, Twiztid, The R.O.C., and Blaze will be performing live throughout the weekend..
And movies, movies, movies! Aside from the aforementioned Army of the Damned world premiere on Saturday night, also being shown at this year’s Rock and Shock are Jay and Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie (all attendees will receive an autograph and photo with star Jason Mewes), Slew Hampshire, Adjust Your Tracking, Nobody Can Cool, and Fantasm just to name a few.
And this is really just a small sample of the fun to be had October 18-20. There will be even more celebs, movies, seminars, and events this weekend. For more info and to purchase tickets, visit the official Rock and Shock website, “like” Rock and Shock on Facebook and follow Rock and Shock on Twitter (@rockandshockusa).
See you there, Worcester!
