Here’s a little Halloween gift to our amazing readers: the online debut of the John Fitzpatrick-directed, Cerina Vincent-starring short film Skypemare! Don’t delay in watching it as this horrifying Skype session will end on November 1, 2013!
Having debuted to thunderous applause this past Monday, October 14th, at the venerated Screamfest Film Festival in Los Angeles, Skypemare revolves around the character of Allison (Cerina Vincent), who, home alone on Halloween night while Skyping with her best friend Jenna (Annika Marks), witnesses something terrifying that unfolds on both sides of her computer screen; and now you can witness it, too!
Stated writer, producer and director Fitzpatrick of the film’s Screamfest festival bow, “When the screening began and the audience really started getting into it, I couldn’t help but to think of Anthony Hopkins’ portrayal of Alfred Hitchcock when he was dancing in the lobby during a screening of Psycho, and then I thanked God that I can’t dance because that would have been just ridiculous. But in all seriousness, it was great to see that what everyone had put so much effort into was actually working.”
As for our Dread Central online debut of Skypemare, a film which was produced by Sarah Fitzpatrick and co-producer Ryan Dillon with cinematography by Nicholas Kaat, “I am really looking forward to it,” said Fitzpatrick. “I can’t think of a better place to see it at during the last few weeks which lead up to Halloween, so watch it while you can because it’s not gonna be here forever!”
