‘Level Zero: Extraction’: Horrific Survival Alien Multiplayer Game Announced
Earlier today, DogHowl Games, an independent game development team based in Ukraine, announced its first foray into the games space with Level Zero: Extraction.
Level Zero: Extraction is an asymmetrical multiplayer game where three teams of three will take on scavenging missions to compete for valuable loot. Thrown into the mix is a team of two players who will take on the role of the alien menace that stalks the map.
While played from a first-person perspective, Level Zero: Extraction promises immersive realistic gunplay, melee combat as well as interesting mechanics for health and movement systems. We already have a long list of weapons that the human players will be able to wield: rifles, shotguns, flamethrowers, nail guns, pistols, grenades, mines, motion sensors, traps, remote controls, flares, hammers, machetes, and more.
On the Alien side, they’ll be wielding powerful abilities like acid spit, live traps, vent crawling, EMP screams, heartbeat scans, and more. While the alien creatures can only be killed by light, reminiscent of the enemies in Alan Wake, it will require some cunning tactics to deploy lights while fighting off other humans.
Level Zero: Extraction announced that it will be hosting a closed beta on March 15, 2024, with a full release later in 2024. Following the game’s Twitter will have the announcement of how to join in on this beta.
From the trailer alone, it’s easy to see there are some very strong alien horror vibes and some incredible creature design. We also get a good glimpse at what gameplay will look like, both from the human and the alien side of things.
While we will have to wait until the closed beta to really get a grasp on what is in store for us during Level Zero: Extraction, it so far looks promising, and I am excited to get my hands on it later this year.
