World War Z: Aftermath Launching Upgrades, Updates

20 million is a pretty impressive number. World War Z: Aftermath recently crossed that threshold across all of its platforms. To commemorate such a monumental success, the team will be launching a content update and upgrade on January 24. If you own it on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you can receive a free upgrade to the new versions on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The upgrades include 4K action at 60 FPS, letting you experience the apocalypse the way it was truly intended. No worries, there’s a teaser trailer, too.

In the latest content drop, you’ll also be able to take on the Horde Mode XL. This content will be exclusive to the next-gen consoles and PC versions. It will follow all the standard rules of the regular Horde Mode, but with a cruel twist thrown in for good measure. Special XL waves with over a thousand starving undead will appear among the normal waves, requiring you and your teammates to pull out all the stops if you hope to survive. Do you have what it takes? If you don’t have a suitable PC, PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, all versions of the game will include a free update which will add mutations into Horde Mode Z. Of course, you’ll also gain access to a few handy new weapons and an improved weapon progression system to destroy them. If you want the scoop, be sure to check out Jans’ 2021 preview.
