Mortal Kombat Reboot Suffers a Fatality

In news that feels like a good old fashioned Sub-Zero spine rip for fans clamoring for a new Mortal Kombat film, Kevin Tancharoen, who helmed the Mortal Kombat: Re-Birth fan film as well as both seasons of Mortal Kombat: Legacy, has broken some sad news.
It came via Twitter, where Tancharoen tweeted the following message:
“After 3 years of Kombat, I’ve decided to move on to other creative opportunities. I wish everyone involved in the movie big success. Thanks!”
For now that means the never-ending blood-soaked battle between Outworld and Earth will most likely be put on hold. It would have been incredible to see what Kevin would have done with the series, but alas, he evacuated before getting knocked into the pit. Shitty news indeed.
We’ll keep our ears open.
