To be honest, we’ve kind of forgotten about “Under the Dome,” but it’s returning in the summer of 2014 with 13 new episodes, and we have a few hints of what’s to come.
Executive producer Neal Baer recently chatted with Parade and promised, “Some new characters, certainly. They’re going to turn things upside down. We’ll find out where they were because it’s only been two weeks since the dome came down. And we’ll maybe meet someone that’s related to Junior and Big Jim.”
While many of us were a bit dissatisfied at the end of Season 1, Baer says not to worry. “We do have an ending in mind, which is nice. Thinking about that, we’re able to devise all kinds of mysteries that will lead to the final mystery.”
In addition, Lilja’s Library says CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler confirmed that Stephen King, whose bestselling novel is the basis for the series, will write the premiere episode of the second season.
“We’re excited to tell more stories about the mystery of the dome and the secrets in Chester’s Mill and are thrilled to have the master storyteller himself, Stephen King, tell the first one of next season,” said Tassler.
