Henry Rollins has been acting for a while now, and it’s good to see him come back to the horror genre. Read on for the first details regarding his new project He Never Died.
Variety reports Rollins is starring in indie horror-thiller He Never Died as Jack, who has prolonged life by buying stolen blood, until his criminal past come back to haunt him.
108 Media is selling international markets at the American Film Market. Shooting starts November 13 in Toronto.
Grand Theft Auto 5 star Steven Ogg has come on board to co-star with Rollins. Jason Krawczyk, who also is directing, wrote the script with Rollins in mind for the lead. “He is the central cerebral reference for the role of Jack and the embodiment of the character,” Krawczyk said.
Rollins read the role a year ago and met Krawczyk and producer Zach Hagen of Alternate Ending Studio and “basically begged” for the opportunity to be involved, he said. “It’s one of the best scripts I’ve ever read,” he added. “As a character, Jack is perhaps far less than normal, which suits me very well. He’s not all that bad a guy, which is different. I don’t get many of those. He is in a very rare and strange situation, and I really want to be part of the action.”
Independent producer Adam J. Shully and 108 Media boarded the project as a financing partner and sales company during Toronto. Abhi Rastogi, CEO of 108 Media, said, “For us it’s an excellent intellectual property in the vein of Sin City with considerable transmedia potential. Our next step will be to develop a TV pilot.”
