Florida Man Arrested For Obscene Nude Beach Behavior: “He was just hoping to meet someone” [Horror IRL]
A 60-year-old sound engineer was arrested on March 9, 2024, after making a scene at a nude beach in Florida.
Layton Paul Nauman was seemingly interested in more than just soaking up rays without the hindrance of a bathing suit. When Nauman visited Blind Creek Beach, he was wearing a C ring, in addition to a scrotal ring. One of the rings was attached to a chain, which was connected to a stick in the ground. A nearby sign read, “Hello! Please feel free to investigate! Gently.” The note was inexplicably accompanied by a hand-drawn rendering of a cat’s face.
Nauman wasn’t breaking the law by being nude on the beach. However, fellow visitors found the accessories and corresponding note to be a bit much, particularly because he was situated near a series of public-facing paths. With that in mind, a concerned beachgoer phoned the police.

When a sheriff’s deputy arrived on the scene, the officer arrested Nauman on misdemeanor charges of indecent exposure.
According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by The Smoking Gun, Nauman told the officer, “he was just hoping to meet someone and to go back to their house for a sexual encounter or maybe just go home with someone’s phone number.” Local law enforcement ensured Nauman left the beach without a romantic interest or anyone’s digits, however.
I think everyone can relate to the desire for human connection. But it seems Nauman may have been looking for love in all the wrong places. The suspect was released later that day upon posting a $500 bond.
