Since the announcement of the next entry in the Jurassic Park franchise, we’ve been wondering: Is it a sequel? Is it a remake? Is it a reboot? Finally a straight answer has come! Take that, Prometheus and your silly mysteries!
Director Colin Trevorrow was asked the following question by a fan via Twitter. “Mr. Trevorrow, every time I read something, it says JW is a reboot. Please tell us that its not a reboot?! I’m going bonkers!”
Trevorrow responded simply: “Reboot is a strong word. This is a new sci-fi terror adventure set 22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park.”
Now I don’t know about you, but the mere fact that he used the words “terror” and “horrific” in his response tickles us to death!
Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson are in various stages of talks to star. Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) penned the script with Derek Connolly and will direct the film. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it is known that Robinson would play Simpkins’ older brother.
Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, and Pat Crowley will produce Jurassic World, which is set to begin filming in early 2014. The dinosaurs will hit theaters June 12, 2015.
We’ll have more as it comes.
