Canadian filmmaker CJ Wallis dropped us a line this week to let us know about BB, a new project he’s about to commence shooting, and offered us the chance to debut its promo trailer. We have it right here along with more info on the film.
Accompanying the red band teaser video are several promo posters and photos plus a behind-the-scenes look at star Jennifer Mae in New Orleans.
Wallis tells us, “I’m making this for next to nothing and doing it all myself – from marketing, posters, shooting, lighting, all post, etc., except for two practical gore effects. We are shooting in Los Angeles for about seven days in January, and I’ll have it finished by the absolute latest February 23, 2014 (my b-day).” Ryan Nicholson, known for his special makeup effects work on “Stargate SG-1,” “The X-Files,” and “Supernatural,” is helping out with the effects Wallis mentioned.
Synopsis:
BB is the provocative story of a girl named Leah who, under the name “Candy Cummings,” performs strip shows online from her apartment for thousands of strangers every day, never fully knowing the extent of evils that could be watching on the other side of the screen.
Newcomer Mae plays Leah Lamont/Candy Cummings. Three of Wallis’ previous long-time collaborators – Paula Lindberg, Troy DeLottinville, and Karen Kruper – are also attached to the project with a few more major cast announcements coming shortly. The soundtrack will feature music from Curren$y, Wiz Khalifa, Lovage, Pillowfight, MaryGold, and original score pieces from Brooklyn producer Harry Fraud.
With filming set to kick off next month and festival screenings planned for early 2014, expect lots more over the coming weeks. In the meantime visit the official BB website, and follow both CJ Wallis (@fortyfps) and Candy Cummings (@bb_movie) on Twitter.
