‘Dread Delusion’: DreadXP’s Horror RPG Is Out Now On PC [Watch]
Get ready to roam the strange and beautiful open world of Dread Delusion as its 1.0 version hits Steam today! From developer Lovely Hellplace and publisher DreadXP (a sister company to Dread Central), the horror RPG’s full version has finally been unleashed. After generating a lot of hype during Early Access (it has an overall rating of over 90% positive, after all), fans can now wander the full world inspired by games such as Morrow Wind and King’s Field.

Dread Delusion has been in Steam Early Access since June 2022. With today’s release, Dread Delusion now includes many new places to explore, headlined by a new realm called the Underlands, new quests, new endgame content, much more story content to go through, an overhauled starting region, and pilotable airships to navigate the flying continent of the game.
Developer Lovely Hellplace is a UK-based games studio created by James Wragg. Their goal is to make games that explore both the sinister and the sublime. Dread Delusion is their first major release. Their previous game Shatter was part of the first Dread X collection, released in 2020.
Dread Delusion adopts a retro PlayStation 1 aesthetic to craft its familiar yet unique world. If you hunger for the sharp polygons, bright colors, and pixelated creatures of the 90s, then this should zoom to the top of your Steam wishlist.
Dread Delusion 1.0 will feature:
- A world-spanning quest to decide the fate of the land in a beautiful retro 3D aesthetic, full of unique characters, creatures, challenges, and treasure.
- Build your character to face obstacles the way you want. There’s always an alternative to combat: charm NPCs, pick locks, harness forbidden knowledge, and more…
- Use Smithing and Alchemy to upgrade equipment – turn a rusty blade into a Master Crafted Clockwork Sword.
- Gameplay inspired by classic RPGs of the 2000s.
- Wield a variety of powerful spells and potions to bend reality to your will.
- Join or Oppose various Factions as they pursue their own goals.
Dread Delusion launches out of Early Access on Steam today for $19.99 USD / £15.49 GBP / €16.79 EUR and features a 20% discount as part of the LudoNarraCon Festival until May 16th.
