‘Longlegs’ Trailer Wants You To Answer The Door… [Watch]
Osgood Perkins knows how to curate an atmosphere that makes you want to crawl out of your skin. From The Blackcoat’s Daughter to Gretel & Hansel, Perkins has developed and honed his very specific sense of style, pacing, and tension. Now, he’s bringing it all together to create perhaps his most terrifying movie yet, Longlegs, starring Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage. Here, Perkins is tackling the occult through the lens of a twisted serial killer thriller. After months of cryptic teasers, we finally have a full official trailer. And it’s spooky, to say the least.
In Longlegs,
FBI Agent Lee Harker is assigned to an unsolved serial killer case that takes an unexpected turn, revealing evidence of the occult. Harker discovers a personal connection to the killer and must stop him before he strikes again.
Watch the chilling new official trailer below, featuring the echoes of Cage’s character whispering “cuckoo”.
Everything about this trailer oozes dread, from the desaturated and dark color palette to the haunting sound design that distorts one word into something from a nightmare. While this is the official trailer, it still doesn’t give away the plot or explain anything, meaning that you won’t be spoiled if you decide to press play.
Monroe and Cage star in Longlegs alongside Blair Underwood and Alicia Witt. Perkins directs the film from a script he penned.

From that reaction, it seems like this is going to top quite a few best of 2024 lists. But maybe I’m just getting ahead of myself.
