There are many traditions that invoke the Halloween spirit: finding the perfect costume, your annual first taste of candy corn, the smell of fall in the air, and getting a really fucking big issue of Rue Morgue in the mail.
For their 9th anniversary the crew of Rue is pulling out all the stops with a massive 140-page double issue of the best horror mag on the market. This year’s focus is a remembrance of a filmmaker who was taken far too young — the one and only Lucio Fulci. They’ve got an interview with Antonell Fulci, his daughter and guardian of his estate, a full filmography, a guide to his gory set pieces, and an interview with long-time composer Fabio Frizzi.
And that’s not all, not by a long shot. Rue Morgue #61 will also include their annual report from Fantasia, a connoisseur’s guide to 50 alternative horror books (HELL yes), an article about the Belgian shocker Calvaire, a chat with R. Lee Ermey about his role in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, and a helluva lot more!
Hit up Rue Morgue’s official site for all the gory details, and be sure you add yourself to their ever-growing list of monthly subscribers; you’ll be glad you did!
