Spy thrillers are perfect if you love a twisty, action-packed experience that’ll keep you on the edge of your sweet with your brain constantly trying to keep up with the facts, information, and who is betraying who. Think Tinker Tailor Solider Spy, Killing Eve, the list truly goes on. And now there’s a new series that needs to skyrocket to the top of that list: The Veil, streaming now on Hulu from FX. Starring Elisabeth Moss, the new espionage-focused thriller has skyrocketed up the charts on the streamer, especially with the season finale airing just this week.

The synopsis for The Veil, per Hulu, is as follows:

FX’s The Veil is a spy thriller that explores the surprising and fraught relationship between two women who play a deadly game of truth and lies on the road from Istanbul to Paris and London. One woman has a secret, the other a mission to reveal it before thousands of lives are lost. In the shadows, the CIA and French DGSE must work together to avert potential disaster.

Moss stars in the series alongside Yumna Marwan, Dali Benssalah, and Josh Charles. Steven Knight created the series, which makes his fourth collaboration with FX. Previously, Knight penned the script for films such as David Cronenberg’s Eastern Promises and his own films such as Locke. He also created the Netflix series Peaky Blinders, All The Light We Cannot See, and the Apple+ series See.

Moss is a genre star, and not just because she’s a member of the cult of Scientology. She really proved her horror/thriller chops while starring in the dystopian Hulu thriller The Handmaid’s Tale for five seasons. Then she starred in Leigh Whannell’s 2020 jaw-dropping horror adaptation The Invisible Man, and had quite a role in Jordan Peele’s sophomore feature Us. While The Veil is very grounded in reality, Moss continues to play in the world of genre to great success.

With the divisive finale hitting Hulu just yesterday, viewers have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts about the season one ending and if another season is on the horizon.
