More casting news is coming in over the weekend for the new film based on the use of Hasbro’s board game that lets you communicate with the dead, thereby leading to your own possession by evil forces until you become emaciated and die. FUN!
Deadline is reporting that Matthew Settle has been added to the cast of Universal’s Ouija. He joins the previously announced Bianco Santos (“The Fosters”), Erin Moriarty (“Red Widow”), newcomer Ana Coto, Paranormal Activity 2 actress Vivis Colombetti, Olivia Cooke (“Bates Motel”), Douglas Smith, and Daren Kagasoff in the film, which is being produced by Platinum Dunes, Blumhouse Productions, and Hasbro.
Settle (pictured) will play Anthony Morris, the father of Laine Morris (Olivia Cooke). Cooke will play a girl who discovers that her dead friend had been messing around with a Ouija board and brings the game home. Smith is the dead girl’s boyfriend, who may know more about her death than he lets on.
Filming takes place in and around Los Angeles with Stiles White in the director’s chair.
The script by Juliet Snowden and White centers on a group of friends attempting to make contact with a recently deceased classmate through a Ouija board who awaken a dark and terrifying presence.
