This #1 Streaming Series is a Twisted Multiverse Thriller That “Leaves you on the edge”
If you’re looking to dive into a multiverse without masked heroes and intergalactic threats, then Apple TV+ has got you covered. Their new streaming series Dark Matter is a mind-bending thriller that deals with quantum physics and what it means to be you. This is the perfect series for those who love engaging with a twisty, brain-melting story that’ll keep you guessing every episode.
In Dark Matter:
Jason Dessen (played by Joel Edgerton) is a physicist, professor, and family man who—one night while walking home on the streets of Chicago—is abducted into an alternate version of his life. Wonder quickly turns into a nightmare when he tries to return to his reality amid the mind-bending landscape of lives he could have lived. In this labyrinth of realities, he embarks on a harrowing journey to get back to his true family and save them from the most terrifying, unbeatable foe imaginable: himself.
The series is based on Blake Crouch‘s novel of the same name. He wrote the novel in 2016 but sold the rights to the film to Sony Pictures in 2014 solely based on his unfinished manuscript. However, in 2020, it was announced that Sony and Apple Studios would partner for a series adaptation rather than a film. Crouch wrote the pilot episode of Dark Matter and serves as the series’ executive producer.
Apple TV+ keeps showing the world what they can do when it comes to original television. Their series For All Mankind is a sci-fi epic that spans decades of space travel. They have a series dedicated to the world of Godzilla and King Kong with Monarch: Legacy of the Monsters. And they even have an episodic adaptation of Victor LaVelle’s novel The Changeling.
According to Twitter, fans are loving the streamer’s latest sci-fi show, sharing how this is another example of AppleTV+ kicking ass in the TV department. Viewers are particularly enamored with the world-building and tension as Edgerton’s Dessen unravels the truth about what’s happening to him.
