Horror franchise producer Jason Blum recently sat down with Crave Online to offer updates on the long talked about The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes and even a possible Insidious television series.
When asked the status of the Amityville project, Blum shared this with fans… “[It’s] still going, still going, still going, still going. We’re going to make that movie, and it’s very cool. But I don’t quite know yet when.”
The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes will showcase the events after the time of the original The Amityville Horror book and movie through found-footage dating back to 1976.
In other news, Blum revealed that he’d be open to an Insidious television series. “I’d like to do that. [But] I don’t think you can do that while we’re still making movies,” he explains. “Now Leigh [Whannell] is writing the third Insidious, so we have to see how far we can take the series of movies… but I believe very strongly that once that kind of comes to a close, you can do a series; and I think soon we’ll be in a place where you can have a series at the same time. Although right now people are too nervous to have that.”
