This Gruesome Sequel Is the #1 Horror Film on Netflix

Netflix Horror

The Saw franchise is immortal. Every time we think it’s dead and buried, another sequel, prequel, reboot, or spinoff emerges. 2010’s Saw 3D was the brutal horror series’ planned final installment. But we all know how that goes. The box office returns were too good for the franchise to stay dead long. We went seven long years without a Saw movie and then Jigsaw happened. The success of Jigsaw subsequently paved the way for Spiral: Book of Saw and Saw X, proving the franchise is still viable. People keep watching these films, so the studio keeps producing them.

Speaking of people watching Saw films, Jigsaw is making waves again. This time, on Netflix. The sequel is the #1 horror film on the platform today and #3 overall. Not bad for the 8th installment in a franchise. Not bad at all.

Jigsaw stars Matt Passmore, Tobin Bell, Callum Keith Rennie, Hannah Emily Anderson, and Clé Bennett. Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger penned the script with Michael and Peter Spierig directing.

The setup goes like this: After a series of murders bearing all the markings of the Jigsaw killer, law enforcement officials find themselves chasing the ghost of a man who has been dead for over a decade, and they become embroiled in a new game that’s only just begun. Is John Kramer back from the dead to remind the world to be grateful for the gift of life? Or is this a trap set by a killer with designs of his own?
