This Chilling True Crime Series is the #1 Show on Netflix
A riveting new docu-series is captivating Netflix subscribers and charting as the #1 television program on the streaming platform today. The show in question provides a jarring look at the lack of global oversight regarding sperm donation. The series is (appropriately) titled The Man With 1000 Kids.
The Netflix original program chronicles the case of Jonathan Meijer, a serial sperm donor. Meijer stands accused of irresponsibly fathering hundreds of children with little to no oversight. When the Dutch Society for Obstetrics and Gynecology barred Meijer from making donations in the Netherlands, the subject of the series merely took his business elsewhere. While habitual sperm donation doesn’t seem the least bit nefarious at first glance, the lack of regulation is actually a huge problem. The absence of oversight allows for the possibility of unforeseen inbreeding. In fact, The New York Times reports that two of Meijer’s children (half-siblings) unknowingly interacted on Tinder in 2021.

Meijer, who didn’t participate in the Netflix series, has clapped back at the streamer, saying that he has only fathered approximately 550 children. Moreover, he claims that the program is “full of lies”. The program consists of three episodes, each under 45 minutes. So, it’s not a major time commitment.
