This Shocking M. Knight Shyamalan Thriller Is Finally On Hulu; Don’t Miss It

Shyamalan

Director M. Knight Shyamalan is nothing if not polarizing. People seem to love or hate his work. There’s not a lot of middle ground. But even the director’s harshest critics must admit that Shyamalan has some solid films in his repertoire. One such example recently made its way onto the Hulu platform. I’m talking about Split.

Split serves as a sequel to Unbreakable and stands as the second film in the Eastrail 177 Trilogy. Glass marks the final installment in said trilogy.

Shyamalan’s Split holds the honorable distinction of being ‘certified fresh’ on Rotten Tomatoes with a critical approval score of 78%. But this flick wasn’t just a hit with critics. The picture’s Rotten Tomatoes audience approval score is an impressive 79%. Quite the crowd-pleaser indeed.

The 2016 horror thriller stars James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy, Haley Lu Richardson, Jessica Sula, and Betty Buckley. Shyamalan penned the screenplay in addition to assuming directorial duties.

If you’re keen to revisit Split, or to experience it for the first time, head over to Hulu and give the film a spin. You’ll likely be glad you did.

For anyone unfamiliar, the setup goes as follows: Though Kevin (McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey, Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him — as well as everyone around him — as the walls between his compartments shatter.
