This Brutal Denzel Washington Franchise Is Leaving Netflix Soon … Don’t Miss It!
As many of you have realized, I like having a few Denzel Washington movies with my oxygen. So, I noticed Netflix is making the bold choice to remove an action-packed Denzel thriller from their streaming service. Not only is this a confusing move, but it will also further break up this wildly popular franchise.
If you have not watched The Equalizer trilogy yet, you might want to do that soon because the first installment leaves the app on August 31. If you’re unfamiliar with this series, watch the trailer and check my notes below.
In the film,
A man who believes he has put his mysterious past behind him cannot stand idly by when he meets a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters.
The Equalizer is based on the series of the same name created by Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim. The film stars Denzel Washington, Marton Csokas, Chloë Grace Moretz, Bill Pullman, Melissa Leo, and David Harbour. Frequent Denzel collaborator Antoine Fuqua directed the film from a script by Richard Wenk.
Fans have been able to watch The Equalizer and The Equalizer 3 on Netflix for a while now. However, The Equalizer 2 is streaming on Hulu at the moment. It is usually ideal for all films in a franchise to live on the same app together. However, diehard Denzel Washington fans have been making it work. So, this is an alarming blow to everyone who wants to watch our beloved actor equalize some bad guys again.
I recently took the plunge with this series last year. Not only is it the kind of brutal fun that I love to see on screen, but it also allowed Washington to remind people there is nothing he can’t do as an actor. If you’re not at least a little afraid of his Robert McCall, then you’re not paying attention.
Make sure you catch The Equalizer on Netflix while you can. Then make the time to watch The Equalizer 2 on Hulu. It’ll help you understand why Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal belong in more movies together. It will also remind you Gladiator 2 will be their next time working together, but that is a completely different article.
Check out the explosive trailer for The Equalizer 2 below.
If you’re like the rest of us, you’ll still want to watch Denzel Washington throw hands after these first two movies. That’s when you should head back to Netflix for The Equalizer 3. It has a very cute Man on Fire reunion between Washington and Dakota Fanning in the conclusion of this vicious trilogy.
I know we’re all busy getting our official Halloween season started. However, Netflix is about to lose a recipe, so we should make time to rewatch this beloved Denzel Washington franchise while we can. Join me in calling out of work for Denzel this month. Our supervisors are doing the same anyway.
Are you a fan of The Equalizer movies? Or are you just inspired watching Denzel Washington fight fools in his 60s? I am definitely planning to rewatch this franchise for both reasons, so we can be friends either way. Find me at @misssharai.
