The #1 TV Series on Netflix is A Twisted Thriller That’ll Keep You Guessing
A new mystery series is dominating the Netflix charts. I’m talking about the recently released British thriller program A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Based on the books by Holly Jackson, the show adapts the events of the first novel in a three-book set.
I haven’t had a chance to sit down and watch the show just yet. But it’s certainly on my radar. The trailer, which you can see in the player below, gave me Pretty Little Liars vibes. And that was more than enough to pull me in and ensure I would be watching.
As of the publication of this post, the show sits as the most-watched series on Netflix. Additionally, the adaptation holds a critical approval rating of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes. The program’s user rating is a respectable 70%. So, it seems both fans and critics are enjoying this twisty affair so far.
The series stars Emma Myers, Asha Banks, Yali Topol Margalith, Raiko Gohara, and Zain Iqbal. Poppy Cogan adapted the property for the small screen.
The literary trilogy upon which the series is based consists of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Good Girl, Bad Blood, and As Good as Dead. Though no official announcement has been made at this juncture, many suspect the second and third books will also be adapted. Seeing as the inaugural season is performing so well, that seems like a natural progression.
The setup goes like this: Pip Fitz-Amobi, a brilliant woman, is unsure whether schoolgirl Andie Bell was killed by her lover Sal Singh five years ago. How far will they go to protect Pip from learning the truth if Sal Singh turns out not to be the murderer?
