The #1 New Netflix Series is A Parent’s Worst Nightmare; Goes Viral for Bizarre Scene [Watch]
A newly released Netflix series is devastating the platform’s subscribers. The consensus suggests the show starts on a tragic and heartbreaking note and spirals out of control from there. The program in question is called The Accident. The series’ title in its native Mexico is Accidente. And this melodrama about a parent’s worst nightmare is going viral online for all the wrong and, sorry to say it, arguably hilarious reasons.
I won’t go into painstaking detail about The Accident because I don’t want to spoil any surprises. But I will say that you likely won’t look at bouncy houses the same after taking in this Spanish-language series. Seriously, the titular event refers to an unspeakable tragedy involving an inflatable playplace for youngsters. And the aftermath isn’t terribly … uplifting.
The tragic event is what’s making everyone talk. If you’re looking for a totally outrageous and honestly bizarre spoiler, then skip ahead to take a look. Say what you will, the Netflix original series is now charting in the top slot in multiple Latin American countries today and currently sits in the number 2 spot in the U.S.

Although The Accident is pulling in viewers like crazy, critics haven’t been entirely blown away by the proceedings. The majority of film scholars seem to be underwhelmed by the proceedings thus far. The show currently ranks at just 33% ‘fresh’ on aggregate review site Rotten Tomatoes. However, that’s with only 6 critics weighing into date. So, the consensus may simply feature a disproportionate number of negative reviews with only a handful of critics weighing in. Time will tell.
Klych López and Gracia Querejeta direct the series. The program is written by Leonardo Padrón. Ana Claudia Talancón, Sebastián Martínez, Alberto Guerra, Eréndira Ibarra, and Erick Elias feature in starring roles.
The action starts with a tragic accident that radically changes the lives of several families, triggering a spiral of guilt, resentment, and violence that will lead them to explore the furthest limits of pain, resistance, and pity.
