‘The Bunker’ Cast and Crew Discuss Their Chilling New Alien Invasion Horror [FrightFest 2024]
The acclaimed new sci-fi horror film The Bunker recently had its international premiere at FrightFest, and we caught up with the team to discuss their work on the intriguing film.
The Bunker was directed by Brian Hanson, who also directed The Black String and Best Man Dead Man, in addition to having served in the Afghanistan War. Hanson also co-wrote the script for The Bunker alongside co-producer Charles L. Bunce, and Chelsea Edmundson plays the lead role of Dr. Michelle Riley. The supporting cast includes horror legends Tony Todd, known for playing Candyman, and Tobin Bell, who portrays Jigsaw in the Saw franchise.
Inspired by the COVID-19 lockdowns, the plot of The Bunker focuses on the amplified tension and paranoia experienced by a team of scientists as they work to create a new biological weapon to stop a suspected alien invasion. The story showcases psychological horror elements in addition to being about an alien invasion, so viewers will clearly be left filled with tension as the plot reaches its dramatic climax.
