It’s Showtime for Dexter
Showtime’s really enjoying playing around in our genre it seems. Of course, they really dipped their toes in with last year’s Masters of Horror, which they’ll be bringing back this year, but a new show is premiering on the pay channel come October 1st that’s getting all sorts of good word of mouth.
It’s called “Dexter” and tells the story of a charismatic forensics expert for the Miami Metro Police Department who moonlights as a vengeance-seeking serial killer. He only kills those whom he feels deserve death, you see, and the show creators promise that despite his vigilante style, viewers won’t be able to help but like him.
The show, based on Jeff Lindsay’s novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter, features “Six Feet Under” star Michael C. Hall in the title role as well as Exorcism of Emily Rose lead Jennifer Carpenter, Julie Benz (Jawbreaker), and James Remar (“Sex and the City”).
If it sounds like something you’d take the time to check out, why wait until October 1st? Showtime has the pilot episode up on its site; just click here to check it out (the password is “sneakpeek”). Not ready to sit down with a full episode? Check out some badass clips of the show below then, lazypants.
When you’re done with those, smack your cursor on over to Showtime’s official site for “Dexter,” and be sure to catch its premiere on October 1st at 10:00 PM EDT!
