Stephen King Praises Two of the Best Horror Shows in Years

Stephen King From

Stephen King remains one of the best horror advocates around. Whether it’s the latest Blumhouse release or a polarizing horror remake, fans can count on one thing—if Stephen King loves it, he’s going to talk about it. Recently, Stephen King shared his love for the Paramount+ series Evil (also streaming on Netflix). He joined the choir of voices begging the show be renewed after its recent cancellation, remarking that the show is “VERY scary.” Those sentiments remain, since King recently tweeted out his love for not only Evil, but reiterated his fondness for MGM+ series From.

Check out a trailer and synopsis below:

Per MGM+: From unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town that traps all those who enter. As the unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest – including the terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down.

Both Evil and From are two of the best horror series airing right now, if not the best. Evil is fun, From is terrifying, and taken together, they’re about as effective a one-two punch of horror as you can get. Stephen King has shared his love for both series before, though he has continued to tweet out his ardent support.

From now streaming on Prime Video and MGM+

While executives have not yet responded to calls to renew Evil—and, unfortunately, those kinds of asks are almost never met—you can catch the first two seasons streaming on Netflix, and the final seasons on Paramount+. At the very least, there is plenty more From, with the third season set to bow on September 22.

Earlier this month, Stephen King retweeted From star Harold Perrineau’s tweet encouraging fans of the show to catch up before the third season’s premiere.

Additionally, Stephen King responded to a user who tweeted out how From deserved “global recognition” and was “one of the best shows of recent times in every aspect.” King’s quote tweet agreed, with the writer tweeting a simple “Yes” in accordance. Additionally, he took the opportunity to spotlight Evil.

I’m with Stephen King. Both From and Evil are some of the best horror stories around, and while it’s a shame one is coming to an end, the other is just getting started. What do you think, though? Are you a fan of either? Let me know over on Twitter @Chadiscollins.
