George Clooney Fueds with Quentin Tarantino?: “All right, dude, f—k off”
George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino are a dynamic duo when they are getting along. The pair first collaborated on the smash hit medical drama ER. The heartthrob actor directed the Pulp Fiction filmmaker on an episode where Tarantino featured as a guest star. Not long after that, Clooney and Tarantino re-teamed as the Gecko siblings in the Robert Rodriguez action horror film From Dusk Till Dawn.
Why are George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino beefing?
The pair remain mostly cordial in the years since collaborating on From Dusk Till Dawn. But Quentin Tarantino’s mouth is getting him trouble once again.
In a recent interview with GQ, Clooney clapped back in regard to a Deadline piece where Tarantino suggested Clooney is no longer a viable movie star. “Quentin said some s**t about me recently, so I’m a little irritated by him,” Clooney admitted.
For reference, In speaking to Deadline’s Baz Bamigboye about contemporary ‘movie stars,’ Tarantino took the opportunity to disparage Clooney’s career of late, saying: “Well, it’s been a long while since I think George Clooney has drawn anybody to an audience… When was his last hit where he drew an audience?”
Clooney took it in stride, however, and jokingly told GQ: “All right, dude, f**k off. I don’t mind giving him s**t. He gave me s**t.”
The static between the pair seems to have largely blown over
To be fair, it sounds like there are no hard feelings. Near the end of the chat with GQ, Clooney expressed gratitude that he’s worked with talented filmmakers, including his From Dusk Till Dawn costar.
In From Dusk Till Dawn, Clooney plays Seth Gecko and Tarantino plays his brother, Richard. The pair had great screen chemistry and each did well with the fight choreography and demanding action sequences within.

In case you’re unfamiliar with the setup, From Dusk Till Dawn plays out like this: On the run from a bank robbery that left several police officers dead, Seth Gecko (Clooney) and his paranoid, loose-cannon brother, Richard (Tarantino), hightail it to the Mexican border. Kidnapping preacher Jacob Fuller (Harvey Keitel) and his kids, the criminals sneak across the border in the family’s RV and hole up in a topless bar. Unfortunately, the bar also happens to be the home base for a gang of vampires, and the brothers and their hostages have to fight their way out.
