SEED: LEGACY: Dustin Ferguson Directs New Entry in Uwe Boll’s Slasher Series [New Blood News]

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve checked in with our friend Dustin Ferguson, hasn’t it? I mean, to be fair, he’s been busy as hell lately, what with the Spider Baby and House on Haunted Hill remakes, plus several other films in between.

And he shows zero sign of slowing down. In fact, he’s actually starting pre-production on yet another film, one that teams him up with a fellow cult director who we longtime horror fans have heard of a time or two—Uwe Boll!

Yes, that Uwe Boll. Crazy, right? Between the two of them, we’d be in for a hell of a ride no matter what. For this particular collaboration, Ferguson is directing a sequel to one of Boll’s longer-running series, Seed: Legacy.

For those of you unfamiliar, Seed is a slasher series following Max Seed, a “seemingly undead man” who was “bound and buried alive”, only to dig his way out and seek “bloody vengeance on those who caused him his suffering.”

In true slasher fashion, one movie wasn’t enough to put him down. Seed: Legacy will be the third entry in his gore-dripping rampage of revenge, and follows the aftermath of the others like so:

“Taking place 20 years after the events of the original film, the sole survivor returns to her hometown on the anniversary of her parents’ death. However, her arrival sparks a string of brutal new murders that end in a terrifying and twisted game of survival against killer Max Seed.”

Ferguson said of the film:

“As a big fan of the original film, I aim to have the character of Max Seed give Art the Clown a run for his money… At least, in the gore department. Seed is ripe with franchise potential, and I think there’s plenty of room for another brutal badass on the block.”
