Known for starring in Apple TV’s hit series Silo, actors Chinaza Uche and Caitlin Zoz have expanded their skills into writers, directors, and producers with their new company, CaChing Productions. Their most recent project? A haunting psychological thriller titled Come Home. All about the horrors of isolation, the new film is slated to release just in time for spooky season. And we’re excited to share an exclusive clip that teases what awaits the film’s two couples as they wander into the beautiful Adirondack Mountains.

In the film:

Newlyweds Mel and Ikenna abandon their bustling city life after inheriting a secluded family home in the Adirondack Mountains. They seek solace in its isolation but quickly find their dream of tranquility turning into a nightmare when they are joined by friends Taylor and Arjun, only to encounter a sinister force that preys upon them one by one. Mel and Ikenna must confront an eerie presence that seems to entrap them in the forest’s haunting past. Struggling with their growing paranoia and the forest’s chilling echoes of time, they must unravel whether they are haunted by vengeful spirits or simply unraveling from the strain of isolation.

Uche said, “One of the things I am proudest of is that Come Home is a real container for all of our confusion, loss, and terror we were feeling when making it. Our country and the world were in uncharted territory and I think that feeling is burned into the film in a way I hope will always keep it potent.”

Uche and Zoz produced Come Home. This film marks the second feature film from their CaChing Productions banner. Zoz co-directed alongside producer Nicole Pursell (Missy Film), with all three filmmakers sharing writer credits.

Pursell said of the film, “Horror is a big tent. It includes everything from bloody slashers, to slow-burn thrillers, and everything in between. You can create a crazed killer or have a metaphor as your monster; you can work against expectation or dive into it headfirst. By making a horror film, it allowed us to take the imagery of a cozy and picturesque New England autumn and turn it into a textured, complex, and ultimately sinister landscape… that may trap you there forever.”

Zoz added, “My hope is that, while our film is meditative in its approach, the horror element allows for the audience to feel as immersed in the sense of internal anxiety and fear, as we were when we made the film.”

Uche and Zoz star in the film alongside Paton Ashbrook and Sathya Sridharan, who also contributed to the screenplay. Cult icon Daphne Ashbrook also makes a special cameo appearance.

Come Home is set to premiere on Amazon and across major VOD and Digital providers on October 1, 2024.
