Production Nearly Ready to Begin on Pride and Prejudice and Zombies? The big screen adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies simply will not stay dead, and given the subject matter, that’s pretty fitting! Word out of EFM is suggesting that the cast is falling into place and the flick is just about ready to shoot!

Burr Steers is still set to direct, and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones‘ Lily Collins (pictured) will star. David O. Russell penned the screenplay.

Darko Entertainment, Natalie Portman’s Handsomecharlie Films, and producer Allison Shearmur are already on board the project, which was originally set up at Lionsgate.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies centers on Elizabeth Bennet’s quest for love and independence amid the outbreak of a virus that turns the dead into zombies. The story’s set in an alternate version of 19th Century England that features deadly ancestors roaming the countryside.
