Soho Horror Film Festival Announces Its Full 2024 Lineup
Get ready for the 2024 hybrid edition of the Soho Horror Film Festival because it’s going to be a big one. Spread over two weekends and boasting over 80 films from 17 countries, the award-winning festival is back to screen the best and scariest the genre has to offer.
In honor of the 25th anniversary of the seminal genre classic The Blair Witch Project, the in-person festival will feature a one-of-a-kind Blair Witch mini-museum alongside an immersive lore treasure hunt. The virtual festival will host a special live episode of Dread Central’s own Development Hell Podcast discussing unmade Blair Witch sequels.
On top of that, the festival will feature a showcase of contemporary found footage excellence. Opening the festival is the International Premiere of Tim Kasher’s Who’s Watching, a cripplingly creepy character study of infatuation. Then there’s Stuart Ortiz’s psuedo-documentary Strange Harvest: Occult Murder In The Inland Empire, Johannes Grenzfurthner’s divisive Solvent, and Egyptian tomb raiding The Ceremony Is About To Begin.
Other premieres include Koji Shiraishi’s House of Sayuri, Michael Varrati’s There’s A Zombie Outside, and the sapphic maternal horror Birthrite. The virtual portion of the festival includes The Buildout, The Stickman’s Hollow, and Delicate Arch.
Closing the in-person festival is a double bill of the English Premiere of Jack Clark and Jim Weir’s bachelor party nightmare Birdeater, and absolute puppet party perfection with Steve Kostanski’s Frankie Freako.
The Soho Horror Film Festival will run from November 22 to 24, 2024, at the Whirled Cinema in Brixton, London. The online Sohome Horror Film Festival will run from November 28 to December 1, 2024.
